Cluster er en av de eldste variantene som dyrkes i USA. Grunnstammens opprinnelse er usikker. Fram til slutten av 1970-tallet var Cluster en av de få variantene som vokste i USA og ble plantet til det meste av humleproduksjonen. Alfasyreinnholdet er middels, aromaen er sterk og lagringsstabiliteten til alfasyrene er blant de beste i verden.

Cluster is one of the oldest varieties grown in the US. The rootstock origin is uncertain. Until the late 1970's, Cluster was one of the only few varieties growing in the US and was planted to most of the hop acerage. Alpha acid content is medium, aroma is strong and storage stability of the alpha acids is among the best in the world.
